When formed, the Head Master only consist of Tresno (vocals), Micky (bass), Yoss (guitar), and Hendro (drums) who often brought the songs of Red Hot Chilli Peppers (RHCP). After Irul entrance to rhythm guitar position, they started playing the new stream when it is still foreign and less well known in Indonesia, ska. They often performed the song millik overseas ska band Voodoo Glow Skull and Operation Ivy.
To add a feel of ska, they are adding personnel to the position of Brass Section of Andi on additional trumpet and trombone player for the Edhot. Efforts to enter the kitchen recordings were launched. They sent a demo to show Frustasi songs and demo Bebas Pusing songs sent to IndieLapan Prambors and into ratting fifth.
SKA Phobia, the first album released in 1999 under the label Pops who commanded Dodo Abdullah. This album relies 0Genit and 0Angan song. The second album, MEREKA TAK PERNAH MENGERTI (2001), was awarded a Triple Platinum.
Substitution formation occurs, Hendra replaced Aditya Pratama aka Adi, a former drummer Teaser group. The third album was released in 2003 titled SUPER SUPRISE. Still following the pattern of the previous album release every two years, the fourth album titled DISCOGRAPHY HITAM PUTIH, released in 2005. Still produced by Pops Musik, the release of this album coincides with the tenth anniversary.
Two years later they released the album 'the best', entitled A JOURNEY (2007) that rely on old songs, Sakit Hati, Genit, Salam Rindu, and Mawar Hitam, and a new song, Kamu Penipu Tresno creation.
After vacuum for two more years, the beginning of 2010 Type-X again kicked off the realm of entertainment with the launch of the new album. FESTIFA PERASAAN titled album is still carrying the concept of ska, but with a slightly different touch and involve three drummers. Type X decided to stay true to their musical path in the midst of frenetic music a contemporary Malay Indonesia today.
